"Batata Poha / Bataka Poha" - A Well known Indian Dish , Widely Preferred as
Breakfast in indian kitchens as well as Street food. People try different styles
of poha ( flattened rice ) Dish as - Kanda batata Poha ,
Serving with A chivda ( especially in rajkot city - A place famous for its own chevda / Chivda recipes )
Batata Poha is Most Likely Dish of Gujarat and Saurashtra and Maharashtra.
Here i will Explain you the most Easy Way of Making Poha in Microwave.
Ingredients:

Poha ( rice flakes ) - 1-2 bowl or as req.

Chopped Potato - 1 big ( finely chopped )

Chopped Onion - 1 medium
- Salt to taste
-
Turmeric Powder - 1/4th - 1/2 tspn
-
Coriander Powder - 1 & 1/2 tspn
-
Cooking Oil - 1 tbsp
-
Red Chilly Powder - 1/2 tspn
-
Lemon juice - 1/2 ( optional )
-
Chopped Apple - 1/2 ( optional )
-
Coriander leaves - for garnishing
-
Green chillies - for garnishing
Making / Method
Take A mould / container ( microwave safe can ) - Add Poha ( washed with
fresh water )
1-2 bowl as req. , add chopped potato ( finely chopped ) , add Chopped onion
- 1 medium , add salt to taste , add turmeric powder - 1/4th - 1/2 tspn ,
add coriander powder 1 & 1/2 tspn and mix it well.
Now add Red chilly powder - 1/2 tspn , add cooking oil - 1 tbsp and mix it
well again.
Now Microwave it for 2 minutes ( on poha mode ) or normal mode.
Brunch mode - poha mode. or normal mode for 2 minutes.
AS WE ARE USING POTATO IN THIS RECIPE WE WILL MICROWAVE OUR POHA FOR
TOTAL 6-8 MINUTES. W/O POTATO POHA WILL GET READY IN JUST 2
MINUTES.
Now add lemon juice 1/2 ( optional ) or you can add it while serving.
Now You can add Chopped Half Apple ( optional )
And now microwave it for 4 minutes. ( 2 minutes mode and again for 2
minutes more.
Our Bataka poha is now ready to serve in just 6 minutes. ( you can observe
the potato - if not cooked microwave it for extra 2 minutes. )
Sometimes potato takes a little more time to cooked.
Point to remember - If you are not using potato - your poha will get ready
in just 2 minutes ( in microwave )
Now serve it hot , sprinkle lemon juice , red chilly powder and coriander
leaves and you can also add Chopped raw onion for garnishing.
you can aslo have fried green chillies.
Also give a try to ratlami sev or chivda / chevda.
