Here's a step-by-step guide to making the perfect potato tornado: Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Step 2: Wash and peel your potatoes. Using a spiralizer or a sharp knife, cut the potatoes into long, thin strips, twisting them into a spiral shape as you go. Step 3: Insert a skewer into the bottom of each potato tornado, making sure it goes all the way through. Step 4: Brush the potato tornadoes with oil, making sure to coat them evenly. Crispy Masala Dosa Recipe


Masala dosa is made by stuffing a dosa with a lightly cooked filling of potatoes, fried onions and spices. The dosa is wrapped around an onion and potato curry or masala.
Masala dosas are dosas that have a yellow-coloured masala stuffed inside, made of potatoes, onions, mustard oil, etc.

It is a fermented crepe or pancake made from rice batter and black lentils. Commonly known as Masala Dosa, it is Karnataka's speciality.

Ingredients:

  • Cooking oil
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tspn
  • Garlic ( chopped ) - 5-6 cloves
  • Chopped onion - 2-3 medium 
  • Chopped Green Chilly - 2 pc
  • Chopped tomato - 2-3 medium 
  • Red chilly powder 
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Dry Mango powder ( optional )
  • Boiled Mashed Potatoes - 2-3 medium
  • Fermented Dosa Batter - ( Homemade or Readymade )
  •  Butter / Oil 
  • Chammanthi Masala for Masala dosa.

Making /  Method

Potato Filling / Stuffing 

Take a frying pan or kadhai , add Cooking oil - 4-5 tspn and heat , now add mustard seeds - 1 tspn and roast , now add Chopped garlic - 5-6 cloves and roast for 20- 30 seconds, now add Chopped Onions - 1-2 medium and cook it for 1-2 minutes on low-med flame, now add chopped green chillies , add Chopped tomatoes - 1-2 medium and cook it for 3-5 minutes on low - med flame (cover it with lid ).

Now add red chilly powder - 1/2 to 1 tspn , add turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn , add salt to taste , add dry mango powder ( optional ) and saute it well and cook it for 2 minutes on low flame.

Now add Boiled and mashed potatoes - 2-3 medium and mix it with all the ingredients. 
and cook it for 2-3 minutes on low - med flame.

Our dosa stuffing masala is now ready - turn the flame off. 

Lets prepare our dosa now. 

take a tawa , pre heat it for 1 minute on high flame, now lower the flame and apply 2 tbsp water and wipe it out , now apply fermented dosa batter immediately and spread it. 

Now after few seconds or dosa becomes little dry add Butter or oil , add chammanthi masala ( Dry masala in south indian style ) ( You can also find it out - Chammanthi recipe on my youtube channel )

This chammanthi masala could also be used along with upama to be spread on our dosa. ( Optional ) 

Now you can add little oil as well for good texture , now add chopped onions , add chopped green chilly , add chopped tomatoes and cook it for 1-2 minutes , and now add potato masala ( stuffing ), it will take 4-5 minutes to get ready to serve. 

you can try different styles of dosa , by trying different ways or combinations. 
Pizza dosa, pav bhaji dosa, jinni dosa or many more. ( Chammanthi masala is very special ingredient for our dosa ) 

Our Crispy Yummy Dosa is now ready to serve.
