Hey there, foodies! Are you looking for a quick and easy snack recipe that's also delicious? Look no further than the potato tornado! This crispy and flavorful snack is perfect for any occasion, and it's easy to customize with your favorite seasoning blends. To make a potato tornado, all you need is a spiralizer or a sharp knife, some potatoes, oil, and seasonings. Here's a step-by-step guide to making the perfect potato tornado: Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Step 2: Wash and peel your potatoes. Using a spiralizer or a sharp knife, cut the potatoes into long, thin strips, twisting them into a spiral shape as you go. Step 3: Insert a skewer into the bottom of each potato tornado, making sure it goes all the way through. Step 4: Brush the potato tornadoes with oil, making sure to coat them evenly. You can use olive oil, vegetable oil, or any other oil you prefer. Step 5: Sprinkle your favorite seasoning blend ove...
Semolina ( sooji ) - 2-3 bowls ( kattori ) ( Or you can use
rava for instant dhokla )
Ginger and Garlic Paste 2-3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Curd - as per the quantity of your semolina
Dinking Water
Eno ( fruit salt ) - 1 pkt / 1 tspn
Making / Method
Take a bowl or Dish , add Semolina ( sooji ) or rava - 2-3 bowls ( kattori )
,
Now add Ginger and garlic paste ,
add Salt to taste ,
add Curd - 1 bowl approx or as per the quantity of your sooji and now mix it
well.
Now add water and mix it well ( Do not add water simultaneously ) Prepare a
semi - soft batter.
Now if you are using Sooji ( Semolina ) , Keep this batter aside for 5-7
hours or over night for the best results ( fermented ) ( not mandatory )
but if you are using rava instead of sooji you can keep it aside for 30 min.
max. ( not mandatory but preferable for best results )
Now while preparing dhokla , take a dish or a bowl and add 7-8 tbsp of
batter or the 1/3rd quantity of the dish ( in which you will make dhokla )
,
now add ENO ( fruit salt ) - 1 packet or 1 tspn ,
add little water and mix it well.
Now Take a dish or a mould tin , grease it with oil , transfer the batter
into the dish fill it 1/3 rd or 1/2.
Now pre heat the pressure cooker for 2 minutes along with water for steam ,
now place a stand in cooker and place our dish on it. cover the cooker with
lid and steam it for 15 minutes on high flame.
if you have fermented this batter you will see the best results.
Take out the dhokla dish after 15 minutes. and now keep it aside for 2
minutes.
lets transfer it for garnishing / tempering.
transfer it in a plate and cut it in the shape or size of your choice.
Now take a tadka pan , heat oil - 4-5 tbspn , add mustard seeds - 1-2 tspn
and roast , add chopped green chilly and turn the flame off and now add
curry leaves.
apply this tempering / garnishing on our dhokla and sprinkle fresh coriander
leaves on it.
Serve it with coconut chutney.
